Ok so I've tried everything but my polish chips off in a matter of hours after I paint them. that or it peels off in a sheet. I use a base coat, 2 thin coats of good polish and an anti chip top coat. I wipe my nails with vinegar before I paint them and I let them dry for hours to no avail...what is going on??

Def wash thoroughly and use alcohol, scrub fresh or polish remover before base coat. I saved up and got gel because it lasts longer. 2-3 weeks. I'm tough on nails. Polish takes longer to dry than it lasts on me.

Totally agree with above. make sure your nails are clean and free of lotions oils etc.before a base coat. I also use a gel like base coat for regular polish and it works like a charm. also are you tipping the end of your nails with polish and the top coat to prevent chipping?

@ Audra, yeah skip the vinegar & use rubbing alcohol to wipe off the nails before applying your base coat. Don't rinse your hands after wiping w/ the alcohol either. That's what works for me.

I used gel, and it all peeled off within a day... Getting professional gel or acrylic I always have at least two nails off by a week... I guess my nails are just really oily even after they get cleaned off :(

My nails are very oily and salon's acrylics or gel nails lasts me like a week. This nail-aid 11x gel power lasts me between 5-7 days to start to peel off, well it works really well for me saves me time and money. Nicole I buy it from amazon but I think you can find it at drugstores like rite-aid or cvs and walgreens.

I might have to try that stuff. I have tried the alcohol and vinegar (previous suggestions) and I always do this before applying the base coat I just typed the order incorrectly but yeah thats what I meant. I have tried to paint the tips too, that was another suggestion I had heard before but maybe I'm just too sloppy about it. I don't know, I'm fairly rough on my hands. Thanks ladies!
