I really like noxema. I had acne on top of milia since I was 10 years old and Noxema or African Black soap (authentic) are the only things that work for me.

I feel it for you babe. I am just wondering if maybe it's caused by hormones? seek professional advice-even a pharmacist could recommend something... not sure if that helps.

Proactive sucks. I would try The Body Shop (their face mask are great, cleansers, moisturizer, and spot treatment), Boscia (sephora, look on their website), and Murad. But I would definitely go see a dermatologist because you may need to be put on a birth control to help with the hormones, thats what I had to do to help with cramps, skin, and migraines and it has really helped me. I would really consider getting a Clarisonic. Yes, its expensive, but so worth it, it makes my skin look amazing. Make sure you are using a moisturizer too because all those acne washes are so harsh on the skin, and I wouldn't wear a liquid foundation (if you do). I would try a mineral powder instead, it helped my skin a lot too, I use Merle Norman (look on their site, but you have to go into a store to buy, unless you find on ebay or amazon) but it covers really well and I use a concealor if needed (Hard Candy Glamoflauge) and I apply with Elf's kabuki brush. Bare Minerals is also good.

This may sound crazy and for me it was. I stopped using all those harsh face washes. Anything with benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid. Even 2% percent was enough to make my face red. I started talking vitamins and I believe they've drastically helped my skin (before I started doing my face routine I'm going to tell you about.) So I know the vitamins are the reason my face is no longer oily.
So in the morning I rinse my face with warm water then I later on good ol coconut oil. I massage in my face for about 3 minutes then I rinse with cold water. I put on a dark spot corrector(which I only recommend if you have no active acne. Clinique has already helped and I've been using it for 2 weeks it 49.95)
I then put on vitamin c serum (brand is grassroots from khols)
& last I have dry skin now so I put on a moisturizer from CVS/Walgreens it's physicians formula. Dry/sensitive skin.
At night it the only time I'll use face wash(unless I'm working out in the morning) so I wash with Burt's Bees sensitive. Then do what I do in the morning with the coconut oil and my moisturizers. I'll show you a picture it's terrible! I got this after going off birth control. And seriously cried everytime I looked in a mirror. Don't be upset with it. Stress caused mine to become worse. I've seriously tried everything from proactive to almost every drug store face wash. (Switching all the time which also made it worse)

I also picked and scraped the acne off. Left horrible scars! I even took some of my mom syringes and stuck them in my face to try sucking out the bacteria from the cysts, since they never came to a head for me to cut off. I've used knifes and it sound crazy but I was really depresses and I was only 19. I'm 20 now and although my skin inst were I.

I also agree with Lauren on cutting out all of those harsh chemicals! But I had to do that slowly to get it under control first. And now I don't use any spot treatments on my skin besides hydrocortisone gel (weird but it helps me) or advil liquid gels. And for cleanser I use CeraVe with my Clarisonic. I think the most important thing to remember is that yes it suckssss but it will get better but just not overnight, but it will be better, just look at Lauren! Hope your skin gets better, let us know!!

Yes Traci knows her skincare!! One thing that's very important is consistency! Skin gets really agitated if you constantly change up its routine! I use & swear by Neutragena Oil Free Acne Wash! It has the dermatologist recommended percentage of the salicylic acid Traci is talking about & a very common misconception with acne prone skin is people assume that moisturiser is bad for it since its oily & we think of "drying up" the acne but in my experience with acne & skin care is very dry skin will break out badly from being overly dry!! Its very important to moisturise your skin right after washing with the salicylic acid washes!! Right away! Here's my routine that has cleared my skin uo completely. The salicylic acid also cleans out your pores & gets rid of blackheads. Ok, in the morning I wash my face with warm water & Olay Fresh Effects (Shine, Shine Go Away) then I rinse in cool water making sure to rinse very well. I pat my face dry & apply a good moisturiser. This is really personal preference depending on if your skin is VERY dry like mine, combo or oily. Then I do my makeup or not. At the end of the day when skin has pollutants settled on it, oils from the day, left over makeup (which I forgot to say to take off your makeup before washing it) but any left over makeup that the wipes or remover may have missed. I wash with warm water & the Neutragena Oil Free Acne Wash really well. You need the wash to be on your face for 2-3 minutes for the salicylic acid to work!! Then I rinse really well with cool water, pat dry & apply my moisturiser. This has helped me like nothing else! Like I said, I don't have one blemish right now & the only time Ill get like one or two around my chin area is during my monthly cycle which I treat with any acne spot treatment with benzoyl peroxide (The ONLY time I use benzoyl peroxide) & just remember.. it will take a little while for any regimen to start working! Keep using it for a few weeks before you give up on one routine & start another!! Good luck! & this is just what works best for me. After some trial & error you may find something else works better for you! I hope this will work for you though & you won't need to try anything else!! Let us know!!
