I've been trying to home dye my dark brown hair for months now. I would love to be a sandy, copper blonde but after dying it nothing has changed :(
Is this colour build up? As I have dyed my hair in the past. I have tried using a colour remover but still nothing!
Any advice please :) xx

Color removers don't work if it's your hair's natural color. There's no way to lighten your hair without bleach, and that can fry your hair. Simply applying blonde dye to your hair won't change it. Unfortunately I'm not a hairstylist, so I can't tell you how to do it, but I'm sorry it's not working for you!

Unfortunately, color doesn't lighten color. & like Hannah said a color remover won't work if your natural color is the dark brown. That being said you have 2 options.
1) DIY Highlights. Sally's Beauty has a few good kits that you can use at home. It won't give you an all over blonde at first, but overtime you can continue to add highlights without the major damage to your hair that bleaching would cause.
2) Go to a pro. If you're it itching for all over blonde immediately then a professional can bleach it for you. Please keep in mind that the bleach will dry out your hair and you will have to be very careful with it (no heat for awhile, conditioning treatments, etc.) Bleach can also cause hair breakage.
I would strongly recommended doing gradual highlights. The kits are fairly simple and easy to follow. The all over blonde result you want will take some time to achieve with this method but your hair will be happy and healthy :)

My natural hair is really dark brown, almost black. I used a medium ash blonde box hair dye to lighten my hair. You can deffinitly use box hair dye to lighten hair. The hair dye turned my hair a lighter coppery brown when I first used it but then when I continued to use lighter colors it did eventually turn my hair a really nice blonde. I have never used bleach in my hair or gone to a profressional. Just make sure you use ash colors 'light ash blonde', 'medium ash blonde' because it will help keep unwanted red and orange tones out of your hair.

Thankyou!! Really appreciate all the advice :) Think I am going to try starting off with highlights, even if it means going to a proffessional. If that fails il just turn to the bleach :( sorry hair!
