My hair is naturally a medium to light brown. My hair is now dyed an ashy blonde. I am wanting to dye my hair with this box of L'OREAL Paris hair dye as the hairdressers is costing me too much. However I need advice on wether it will ruin the colour I have now and turn out orangey or a different colour to the box all together! Thankyou xx

Well I don't think it will because your hair is mostly blonde already , I think itll just make it more blonde.

You should be fine. if it is a little orange, I think people say to wash it with a purple shampoo or toner. I'm not an expert so you might have to Google which one lol. cause purple cancels out the orange.

I don't really recommend box dyes, especially for lighter colors because you never can predict the result. Go to Sally's or any beauty supply store and purchase either Ion or Wella Color Charm in the blonde of your choosing :) Along with a 20 Vol Developer. Those brands are superior to boxed ones and they're very nourishing to your hair. The employees at Sally's are very helpful if you have any questions about what color would be best. Between a mixing bowl, brush, color, and a developer you'll come in around $20. So it's inexpensive and I'm sure you'll be much happier with the results :)

I'm from Australia so I'll have to search for a store like Sally's! If I get those products does it have instructions on how to use it? Also would it be easy enough for me to do myself without screwing up haha? I'm thinking this maybe a better idea than the box dye!

Just make sure you get an 'ash' box hair dye. Like 'light ash blonde'. It helps keep out the orange tones.

It's super easy I promise! The colors generally come in 2oz sizes and it will tell you how much developer to mix in with it :) It's sooooo much better for your hair than the boxed dyes!

Boxed dye naturally makes your hair look orange.

The toner is used for canceling our orange tones. Like if you dye your hair blonde and it's too brassy, the toner gets rid of the unwanted tones. You're just looking for the actual Wella Color Charm tubes of color not the toner :)
