It happens to me as well. It means that your nails aren't as thick in some places, I think. Especially if I've been gnawing at them.

It happens to me after having a shower so maybe when they're soft, weak, but they should heal.

Mine are always like that when they get longer so I'm sure it's fine when they're short :)
