I dunno why but my extensions are the same and I don't use and heat at all on them...I wash them, condition them, air dry them and gently brush them out afterwards...they feel coarse and don't look at all like they did when I first got them.

As you said they could be wrecked. Also are they real human hair. If they aren't that could be the problem also.

Let them soak in a good deep conditioner for an hour or two then air dry. I use to do that when I wore clip ons and it would give them a bit more 'life'.

Shannon how did you repair your damaged hair?? I've tried like for 2 years and my hair is dead, it won't even grow. I started using coconut oil n it worked like a charm for like 2 weeks n then went rite bak:/ I hate short hair on myself to chop it off so I don't know what will help me.

Because the extensions arent your hair they were someone elses you might need a different care routine for them.

It's because most hair extensions contain certain chemicals to keep the hair shiny and wearable. Once you wash it,you begin stripping away those chemicals. Hence, they look more damaged and breakable. Unless you have good extensions that are all human hair and good quality, I would avoid washing them so they stay in the same form.

Coconut oil never worked for my hair at all.
I did many things to my hair. One method that I used was called the no poo method. It doesn't use chemicals at all. It helped my hair quite a bit.
I'll post a link on it ^_^
Then I got a leave in conditioner which helped a lot. I love using it :) I still use it
Also I had to chop off the damaged hair which I was not happy that I had to do but cutting it off and using stuff to protect your hair so the ends don't become wreck helps. My leave in conditioner also does that. I'll take a picture and post it also.

Your welcome :)
Glad I could help :)

Oh warning, with the no poo method, when you start your hair may feel weird at first. Like its dirty. The first days you do it you might what to start everyday and then to every other day. The space between day at the highest I would do two days. Just a warning ^_^

Try Henry margu revitalizing mist. It's for human hair wigs and extensions to help take care of them and keep them looking fresh. I work in a beauty store/ designer wig shop and its our # 1 for dingy hair pieces

I work with Bellami Hair and I often get this question so I reccomeng using Big Sexy Hair's Repair shampoo and conditioner, the reason this product repairs the hair so well is because it is Sulfate Free so always look for that in a shampoo and conditioner! and also spray them with It's A 10 Leave in Keratin Treatmeant, and it works amazingly(: I hope this helps.
