Proactive is actually pretty bad for your skin because of all the chemicals in it. My friend came off of the product and her acne was 10x worse than before.
I personally have dry tight skin when using some makeup remover. But every morning and before you go to bed remove your makeup with baby oil, I also use apricot face scrub, helps a lot with black heads :)

Yes. Proactive is terrible. It only works when you are using it. When you are not, the acne is 10x worse.
Natural ways are the best way to go. For a while I used lemon juice on my face every other day and let it dry. It works great but if you have really sensitive skin, it can irritate it. Getting rid of dairy can help too. Like drinking soymilk instead if dairy milk. If you are interested looking more into the dairy I will post a link. I don't have dairy. I replace it all with other stuff and it is actually healthier for you :)
Now what I do every day is I use a cleansing brush while I am I the show. Have the water on warm to open up the pores so you can clean them. When I am done washing myself I turn the water onto cool to close the pores. Also I use the cleansing brush when I am getting off makeup. Warm water to open the pores and to rinse my face off and then I rinse over it with cool water. Also make sure the soap you have doesn't help cause the acne

Link for the dairy
There are also other natural ways, but these are the ones that I know personally that work for me. The makeup that I wear is just eyeliner, mascara, and eyeshadow. Once in a while I will have foundation and stuff like that but very rare. On my profile you can see how clear my face it. At a point in time though,my acne was really bad.
I hope I helped :)

I used this remedy for about 4 days and my face was completly clear by the 5th
1. wash face with warm washcloth
2. apply Listerine with a cotton ball
3. Leave on for 1-4 hours
4. Rinse with cool water
I really hope this helps for you because I had such a bad experience with acne and someone shared this with me and I felt hopless because I'd tried so many remedies but I'm glad I did try it because my face has never been more clear(: I hope this helpss
