I was thinking about getting weave, but I'm scared to commit to that. I want to use weave to avoid heat and tampering with my hair so it will grow. I'm thinking about braiding my hair and just clipping in extensions. Any recommendations??

I've actually been thinking about doing U-Tip fushion hair extensions! the only problem I think I'll have with those though are when I wash my hair (I'm half black) how would I straighten the roots and does a lot of heat mess up the glue in the extensions...I'm trying it in a few weeks. I'll let you know!

Don't get a bonded weave girlfriend! I did it once and I ended up with a bald spot. Check out the clip in extensions. A lot of ppl are rocking them and they don't damage your hair. My sister just wore some to her Homecoming and now I am dying to get some. Checkout headkandy.com.

I think a sew-in is a better option, clip ins are meant to clip and blend with your natural hair. I sew-in is a great protective style if done by the right stylist it can last 2-3 months with good upkeep.
