NYX has some great lipliners. I always do one shade darker from the lipstick I'm going to wear so I can get more dimension. I'm a tad bit dramatic. But that's what I do lovely. Or I go to MAC and get a lipliner if I can't find what I'm lookin for.

Ana I feel like it is necessary because sometimes lipsticks do bleed or the lipstick doesn't look as clean. So a lipliner is always useful. That's just my preference. And I like everyone on my face to look define and bold.

I hope my little tip helped. And if you want to prove to yourself which one is better. Try the lipstick without a lipliner throughout the day. See how long it last. Then try it with the lipliner another day. Do a little experiment for yourself. I just tend to always stick with my lipliner

I use a variety of brands of lip liners. If I don't have a specific color match, I usually just line my lips with a color similar to my lip color ("Ever" lip liner pencil by NYX is my go-to). I like playing with the different colors I can make with my lip liner - lipstick combos so I try to buy a good variety of lip liners to allow me to do so. I've never tried a lip liner that was a total bust by any means. I do love NYX pencils liners because they are very affordable and have a huge variety of colors available in stores while most other (drugstore) brands only have a few, standard colors. I also love those Revlon Lip Stains you bought, I have worn them over NYX lip liners, MAC liners, and Wet n Wild lip liners and I had equal success with all of those brands.

Wet n Wild and Jesse's Girl both make great cheap liners. I have a pink, a purple, and a red. With those, I can make tons of colors with just a couple lipsticks, rather than having twenty different matching lipsticks and liners. :)

I don't think liners are necessary for sheer colors like balm stains or lip butters

but definitely for darker colors, mattes, or just lipstick you want to wear a while..
A lip liner (you'll want to fill in your entire lip) will create a stain on your lip, when the color is applied over it will help keep it from feathering. When you eat or just talk you won't get that rim around your lip because the liner has created that wash of color on your lips.

Just my opinion :)
I love my MAC liners, Vino and In Sync especially, but current and naked are must haves as well.
I also absolutely can't live without my ELF liner in fuchsia.

I do everything lol...

but I'm really getting into orange and pinky nudes. I know total opposites lol.
Dark lips are my favorite.
