I love one!! And I've has red before and it is an upkeep I'm sure you've heard it fades fast it also depends on how much you wash your hair.. And 3 I'm not to sure I would love to know because I'm planning on going back to red!

I prefer the first one :) red is hard to keep up because the color molecules are the biggest. Therefore they leave your hair more easily because they don't attach as well as smaller molecules. To keep mine up, I used red shampoo (my stylist just put dye into normal shampoo), and you have to be very careful while washing it. A common misperception about hair dye is that washing it fades it. While that's true, water alone fades it even more than shampooing. So, try to keep your hair out from under the running water as much as possible, and keep a similar hair dye around for emergency touchups if need be (Clairol makes a root touch up kit).

I like the first color :) and I agree with everything Hannah said, as I've had red before too.

Just keep in mind that red is the second hardest color to get out and don't bleach it or it'll turn orange

I think the 2nd picture will look nicer with your skin tone, since its more of a pretty auburn and you still can keep some blonde! Just make sure you go to a trusted reputable stylist. The problem with going from blonde to red is that it will be difficult to get back to blonde if you hate it, but I think it'll look gorgeous and bring out your eyes. I've had different variations of red hair since march and I only wash my hair twice a week, use dry shampoo in between washes, I swear by tressa watercolors shampoo in crimson red and every so often I use the roux refresh mask in fire red to keep it vibrant. If you buy a red shampoo/ conditioner make sure you read the ingredients and if it contains henna DO NOT buy it.

@megan just a question of curiosity, what if it has henna? what will it do to your hair?

I have always been red since recently I dyed black. wash your hair in cold water for the first few weeks reviving reds shampoo and conditioner keeps the red in your hair. You can get it at your local Sally.

@stephanie - it depends how much the shampoo/ conditioner that contains henna is used but henna is nearly impossible to get out of your hair and will react in crazy ways with normal hair color/ bleach.
