What actually is contouring and highlighting? Does everyone do these on a daily basis and what difference does it make? I hear a lot about them but haven't a clue what they are about?

Highlighting just brightens up your face where the sun would naturally hit. Its gives some light to yor face and prevents everything from looking a the same and drab. Contouring adds shadows to your face, making it seem more sculpted. People use contouring to emphasize cheekbones, temples and sometimes even nose. Its kinda to trick the eyes.

This is how to contour by Kevyn Aucoin, I believe. I don't contour everyday , but I do practice so I can have the technique down pat! Mackenzi is right about both contouring and highlighting!

What mackenzi said! just check it out on youtube. I love highlighting and contouring. I contour everyday but when I go out I do both more dramatically.
