Prenatal vitamins or hair skin and nail vitamins. You can get them at Walmart. Also try mane and tail shampoo and conditioner and avoid heat styling.

I have really long hair and last year in April, I decided to go for a lob (long bob). Anyways, long story short, the best thing to do as far as letting your hair grow out, is NOT to cut it. I cut my hair maybe 3 times in the last year and thats how I got to the length I have now, which is halfway down my back.

Use a cotton ball immerse the cotton ball well. Part your hair in sections and distribute through the parts. Use less if you have oily hair; use a dry shampoo but sparingly.

My hair is already long, but I'm obsessed with it being longer. I cut out blow drying & my flat iron (still use flat iron on my roots & bangs) & my hair grows much faster than before.

To Lon Lon H: You and I share the same plight! Well, many, many people do, but I have truly come to understand that two things were/are occuring simultaneously - breakage, and poor scalp health. After obsessive research, I found that anti-fungal creams work fantastic at remediating some unfavorable scalps issues, like dermatitis, which I have self diagnosed. Seeing a dermatologist is best to confirm anything you already suspect is going on with your scalp. A skin doctor recommended to me a long time ago that I use Nizoral (ketoconazole 1%) shampoo, which is no longer available in stores, but worked wonders and my hair grew FAST. I now use Neutrogena T Sal to clean my scalp (every 7 days), and I apply Scalpicin hydrocortisone liquid for itchies. I apply miconazole nitrate 4% to my scalp twice a week. Yes, this is yeast infection cream, but google it for the scalp. IT WORKS LIKE A CHARM. Keeps my scalp clear, I seriously feel new growth on my scalp every week, and I gain about an inch every month. No joke.
Because my hair is severly dry and curly by nature, it tends to break easily. So I deep condition, saturate with essential oils and petroleum jelly to manage and style it, and use a serum for heat protection post wash. For me, this reduces hair loss from breakage substantially.
So, if you are going through a vicious cycle like I was, you may have to tackle any problems you might have seperately. My scalp was weak, and my hair would break off from bad styling habits, keeping my hair at a seemingly situated length. I now make it a priority to keep my scalp clean and healthy, and my hair moisturized. And I have finally seen the length! :)
