Try a thicker cream, maybe? L'Occitane, Soap and Glory, Weleda Skin Food, Burt's Bees Almond Beeswax Hand Cream and First Aid Beauty's moisturizer are all amazing. Try to apply whenever your hands are feeling dry, not just at night, and especially do it if you're going to be outside. Apply lotion before you put on your gloves :)

Try a cuticle balm. Burt's bees makes a great one.

So this may sound odd or a bit crazy but footlogix line of foot products are great to also use on your hands because the penetrate into the dermal layer of the skin rather than just sitting on top and "hanging out" there... Just out the website, you'll see picture (if feet) but they have a cracked heel formula, rough skin, dry skin formula). I think you'll see results from this. The line was developed by a doctor and dermatologist and podiatrist recommend it. (that says something about the quality of it I think) I would still put a heavy moisturizer on over it, especially at night even sleep with Cotten gloves to help with the soreness. I know it can be painful. If not this, I hope you find something that helps.
