Hey girlies! I'm wondering how to get more traffic on my blog 'cause I work really hard but it just seems impossible! I'm going to start doing videos...do you think that'll help?

Yes! People are lazy and, although this is not true for everyone, a lot people often prefer watching a video over reading a blog post. One thing you shouldn't do is spam people with your blog link. You can, for instancd post links to an entry you made that is relevant to the question being asked. For example, a lot of people ask about contouring, so you can make a list of the best contouring products and link it whenever the question comes up. You should also connect and collab with other bloggers (like doing a gift exchange). Other than that, stick with it and don't get discouraged. Even if you feel like no one is paying attention to the quality and effort of your blog, your audience will grow and your time will come! All of the best bloggers were once in your position, and you'll get their as long as you don't give up :)

To add to that^ if you're going to respond to questions on here with blog posts, lets use the contouring example, make sure your information is right. Don't tell people to do things like contour with bronzer and stuff, you know? Make sure you're posting relevant, helpful, correct information :)

^^ Yes, definitely. The bronzer as contour is probably my biggest pet peeve, especially since most of the people who recommend it got their information from YT 'beauty gurus'. Not that there's anything wrong with beauty videos, as long as you know what you're doing. Stick to things you know, and again, if you post a link make sure it's actually relevant to what's being asked :)

For real also don't refer to yourself as a guru. People seriously need a dictionary, because a guru is someone who has complete knowledge of a given topic, and many of the women on youtube, while interesting, suggest things that are simply wrong, by the standards of makeup artists (the actual gurus, in my opinion).

^ Agreed. I actually hate the word 'guru' now.
And I almost forgot, Sophie: You can also post your videos here on Beautylish if you go on the website :)

I honestly only post the link to my blog on topics that deal with that's being talked about. When NAKED3 came out I posted swatches, when people wanted UD lipstick color swatches or lipstick swatches if I have a blog post on it I link them to it. Get traffic up and it helps them in return.

Yeah I agree with posting your stuff on here. I personally like reading blogs instead of watching videos because I takes for to load on my phone. I love also seeing pics of the product on the person and not just a swatch on the hand.

Aw thanks everyone!! You've all helped so much! :) I think I really just need to be patient with it and keep working! I think it's a really good suggestion to post stuff up here cause I have loads of advice to give...and hopefully people will like it! :)
