Try grinding up oatmeal. Then either with it and apply to your face or apply with honey. I'd take some pills as well if I were him it might help.

For swelling I would take ibruprofen, not tylenol. Because Ibruprofen is an antiinflammatory

Don't apply any products to the face for 48hours after treatment except sunscreen (similar aftercare as electroliysis) as it will be open to infection, after the 48hours, your friend can apply aloe vera to the area, and sunscreen daily as skin will be more prone to UV rays (regardless of weather) the local chemist can recommend anti-inflammatory pills :)

But what about the oatmeal mask mentioned above?.. any kind of natural skin masks??.. or Maybe ice??

Ice is fine because your not applying anything that can go into your pores and cause infection, but I'd be a bit wary of the oatmeal mask, till the 48hours have passed at least, treat it as if your friends pores are now open, if you put product on they can go into the facial pores and cause infection.

No problem, if your friend has a water spray that would also help (cold water closes pores, and will refresh face) or to run ice along the face :)
