Actually I live in upstate New York. I applied to Sephora and was called back quickly. I went to the interview and they seemed very nice. I had a few friends that have worked there and LOVED the company as a whole. I would say your best bet is to call and talk to the hiring manager. Ask if they've recorded your application because you're unsure it went through. Ask if anyone has reviewed it and let them know that you're interested. And say just what you said here, you're looking for a chance to learn more about makeup and you think Sephora could be a beneficial place for you to do that. Always say you're a fast learner, you're a people person, interviewers love that. Good luck! I hope you get it!

I worked for both, free-standing and sephora inside JCP. I also have been offered several positions at MAC. With sephora inside JCP, there is a quiz you have to take on your application, if you don't pass it, I as a beauty leader, can't even pull up your application. As far as the free standing goes, they've always had a huge stack of applications, best chance to get a job there is to either come in as a holiday hire or find a store that's about to open. Honestly, the interview process as MAC is a lot harder and more demanding than Sephora. Also, sephora inside jcp only has a few full time positions (3-4 depending on the store), so most of the girls you see there are full time. I loved working for free standing and I love working at sephora inside jcp now. It's a great company that's worth perusing a career in!

Can anyone shed some light on the requirements? I know one is that you must have at least held the same job for a year. I'm just wondering about the others bc I've been trying to get a job at the only sephora by me for months now. Thanks :)
