Definitely try Pravana Chromasilk Vivids or Special Effects! Jerome Russell's Punky Colors are wonderful to use and they have a couple purples which are beautiful (and I use often), but they're not quite as neon/vibrant as the Pravana or Special Effects purples I have seen (Punky Colors are better for dark purples or making pastels in my opinion).
In my personal experiences Ion Brilliant Brights have been junk. It leaves very inconsistent, blotchy results and the consistency is soooo thick-I needed about 4 tubes to completely saturate my chin length hair at the time. Its like putting wall spackling on your head =/
Manic Panic also has a beautiful color selection but I like Special Effects color selection more-especially when it comes to purples. I also find it fades faster than Special Effects. I find both of those brands are comparable in ease of use and price range: I go with Manic Panic when I need something ASAP, but Special Effects if I want better color or quality but I have to buy online.

I used schwarzkopf's purple hair dye, it says semi-permanent but most unatural colours won't be permanent but its lasted a lot longer than any other purple dye I've used. It didn't damage my hair that much either, was back to normal after I deep conditioned it once :)

Sorry for the low quality picture, it was 3-4 years ago on an old webcam but it's the only picture that showed the color lol.
