No one wants an MUA with a bad attitude.

I would not want someone who has a terrible attitude anywhere near my face! I'm my saying you have to be all peppy and cheery, but at least make people feel comfortable with you. Do you really think you're gonna get paid if you're all snobby? No, you're not. And don't fake nice it either, to me that's even worse lol. I don't care if you're the bet artist in the world, if your attitude is sucky, no one will work with you.

This is just something random I thought of, but it's true!

Vent session? Lol, sorry for whatever happened--but it's very true. However some ppl like snobby for whatever reason, especially at certain makeup areas ;)

That's why I don't go to the MAC counter at the Macy's at my mall anymore. I actually work at a clothing store in that mall but I'll drive to the mall an hour away (2 hours from where I live) so I can go to the MAC counter at another Macy's. The people who work there are absolutely amazing. Not sure if this is what happened to you, but I do know what you mean. If I got better treatment at my local counter, I would probably have 10 times the MAC stuff that I do now. I haven't set foot anywhere near that counter in about 7 months and only get my MAC stuff online or out of town. Their loss!

What's up with this Mac girls?!? I had a bad experience also with those girls, It was my first time in a Mac store n really needed help on a good foundation to cover up acne scars n the girl who "helped" me was soo rude I just didn't buy anything!

This is how I feel whenever I go to Ulta. The mall near me just recently got a Sephora (but it's inside JCPenney so its like the size of my kitchen -___- ) but until it was built I would go there and I just never felt welcome. No one greets you, they act like you shouldn't be in their store. I hated spending my money there because of both the attitude and because I don't get beauty insider points, obviously. But they were the closest thing and sadly, I'll probably still have to go there because the Sephora is so small, I doubt they're always going to have everything I need.

And I know that everyone applies makeup differently and not everyone's a pro at it, but some of the makeup I've seen on the girls there is awful! Don't be snobby to me when it looks like you put your eyeliner on in the dark with a sharpie lol

I spend my money with those who treat me with respect and dignity. Those that are super rude and make me so mad that I'm tempted to put on Vaseline and remove my earrings, I just walk out to never visit again. I have on occassion sent corporate customer complaint letters (MAC included) and some responded with a personal letter or phone call while some don't bother to respond at all (which was MAC). A few even sent me goodies with their apologies. These companies need to wake up....they get so big and forget that it was our wallets that made them successful.

I totally agree with all of you guys although like with any brand that can be expected. The most common "attitudes" I've seen have indeed been from some Mac places but it really depends where you go. MAC is really the place for makeup and they're thought of as the Creme de la Creme lol. That tends to go into people's head I guess but I hope to be a Mac artist someday or even at a counter so you guys won't have to worry about attitudes from me lol :-p

I agree. Excellent Customer Service should be the MUA's #1 priority. I never bother with negativity. This is a problem in store too, you encounter a rude MUA/sales rep & it makes you not want to buy anything. Why spend your hard earned money on people or places that don't know respect.

You know that's the number one issue I here from girls is that there to scared to ask people at cosmetic stores for help because they always get rude people then they feel silly for asking :-\ I think it's awful.I think it should be fun and I think that's why Beautylish helps people who get intimidated by some people that can be rude.just think when they tell you that you need a certain product and it's what looks good they're just trying to make a sale so take An honest friend with you who would tell you the truth lol.

It really is awful, even working as an MUA i still feel intimidated or unwelcome in some stores i go to! Snobbiness is a terrible trait to have when working in such a social industry.

My worst experience was at a MAC store In Santa Monica. First of all, the almost obese worker with horrible makeup, acted so high & mighty. She was very rude even though she knew I was buying products. Even after I paid, she still gave me a look-down. It was such a bad experience that I considered leaving a bad review on Yelp.

The other thing I hated about the Ulta near me was that when I went there to pick up my usual acne treatment products I decided to ask about something that could maybe work better or at least would last me a bit longer. This girl takes me over to the Dermalogica display (I believe that's the name/how its spelled) and just picks up one tiny kit and is basically like "this should work" and quickly ran through the products and that was it. She didn't show me any other products or brands, and I got even less product for the same amount of money as the full sizes of the things I usually get. Not helpful st all!! I just got my usual products and left. The store was nearly empty as well, so I highly doubt there was anything other than her bad attitude preventing her from spending a few more minutes and actually comparing some brands and products to me.
