So, not sure where everyone is, but here in Ohio the wind chill temp is - 40. This weather is killing my poor hands. Anyone have a super moisturizing hand cream they can suggest. I've got a few I've been using but this cold is just fierce. My poor hands are cracking. I have been bundling up but even a few moments out in this weather hurts. Using hemp cream from the body shop and hands of hope from philosophy, but I need something deeper for the time being. Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks all!

Vaseline is very greasy, I have aquaphor and it's the same. The hemp cream is really good, don't get me wrong. But this weather is sucking all the moisture from my skin. Was wondering about l'occitane, never tried it but heard good things. I want a cream preferably.

I'occitane does nothing. Its not heavy enough and I took it with me to Alaska a few years ago. It take long for my skin to crack up like a chunk of splintered wood. Try Yu-Be Moisturizing Skin Cream. You can get a tube from Sephora for $16 bucks or Elizabeth Arden 18 Hour Cream for $18 ( check out ULTA because some locales started carrying the line).

I'm in WV on the border of OH (like literally could throw a rock to OH) so its -40 here too! How CRAZY is this?? Anyway, I'm not recommending any lotion cause I really don't know other than Vaseline what would help in this cold!! I'm responding to tell you that they are saying to NOT go out in it & if you do not to have any skin exposed at all cause hypothermia & DEATH can happen in as little as 15MIN of exposure of ANY kind!! They said that any skin that's not completely covered can get a flash frost burn so no lotion is going to help if you don't have every inch of skin covered with something the air can't penetrate! The pain your experiencing is NOT GOOD!! So please just stay in as long as you don't HAVE to go out! If you do, bundle & wrap up all your exposed skin!!

Yu be is a good one, for really cold weather like this I'd honestly recommend checking out such things as o'keeffe for workers hands or something similar. I think hemp is more for protecting the moisture you have already but if you have dry hands you need to get them moisturized first! ;)

I've been using Lush, my boyfriend works at an out door ice rink and the Lush dream cream seems to help. I'm also going to second what Lisa said. We had that freeze early in December so I know exactly what y'all are going through.

Also, try getting a cheap pair of slightly loose gloves, apply a thick layer of lotion before bed, and put the gloves on. Sleeping like that should help some.

Like stacyann says put a thick layer of vaseline and use the gloves and go to sleep. It's going to repair a lot your skin. At day a shea butter cream may works really well. Also there's this cream that I love but you can get it online its from avon it's called moisture therapy sillicon glove. It leaves a layer of sillicona that protects your hands but you can't feel it and it's not greasy at all it's a great great thing trust me.

You should try Footlogix cracked heel formula. I know it meant for the feet but a couple things. Aside from being developed by a doc and recommended by dermatologist and podiatrist... It penetrates into the skin down to the dermal layer instead of sitting on top of the skin and being more occlusive. If you use it still put something like a rich moisturizer on top and wear cotton gloves. Go check out there website. You'll see pics of feet, but you will see the difference it has made. It truly does work on hands too.

Thanks ladies. Will try some of these. I stay out of it if at all possible. But unfortunately still have to go to work and such. My skin always get super dry in the winter, but this is a new level of cold lol. Should be lifting tomorrow, we'll at least back to above 0 degree temps. Bring on spring!

Hey Leslie, hang in there, I'm in Chicago and we are supposed to get up to 0 today after having temps in the negative teens and windchills of -40 plus. Just reapply often and treat at night, it sucks but it is going to pass by the weekend.

anyway, my silly banter is pointless to retype. lol. but I use this and also the true spa Shea hand cream from bath n body works. I'm in Chicago. its cold as heck!

My great grandmother gave me some Mary Kay samples of the Extra emollient night cream and it really moisturizes my hands and feet.

The Body Shop ones are great! I especially love the vanilla one for this season as it's such a rich smell x

I've been switching between Jergens Shea Butter lotion and Avon's Intensive Moisture hand cream (I believe that's the name.) It's -1 here in Michigan right now, so I feel your pain Leslie!

I seen online the O'Keeffe. Wondering how it worked. I ended up ordering the Jack Black industrial strength hand healer from sephora. Should be here tomorrow or Friday. It has a menthol scent, maybe a little manly which I can get over if it works, but had really good reviews on sephoras website, plus they had free shipping till yesterday for vib so I jumped on that deal. The closest sephora is across town from me and I'm not willing to make that hike right now. It's finally above 0 here today and should warm up by the weekend to relatively normal winter temps, this polar vortex was no joke. Once I get the cream and try it I'll let you all know the results. Thanks ladies.

The Best Thing Ever that I've used was a cream by a discontinued line called Bibo Olive A Little!! I'm from Kansas and it got extremely cold there too, Thank God I moved, lol. But they no longer carry this cream or the product line and since then I've had to mix up creams like a chemist to get something close to it. You might check a Farmer's Supply, as they work with their hands a lot and there are products specifically made for the damage done from farm work. Plus it may be cheaper too, you'd be surprised of what goodies you can find in a place like that!! Good Luck and stay warm!!
