OK ladies, I know there has been a ton of posts in the past about Clarisonic but I need to k.ow if its worth the money. I've been on the fence about getting one and I think I just need to hear some of your experiences with the clarisonic. So tell me what you think about it and talk me into buying one!

I think it's totally worth it. My skin is blemish free and smooth. It made a big difference in my makeup application. Buy from Nordstrom, that way you can return at any time, for any reason. Their return policy is awesome-product is the same price you would buy it anywhere else. I did have the purging, but it was minimal. I say it's worth giving a try! A good cleanser can also make a big difference when using the Clarisonic as well!

I don't own one for too many reasons to list unless you want to read a book length response.lol. My husband who is in the skin biz has a love/hate relationship with them while my dermo has a sign in her office of a Clarisonic in a bullseye. Both of them agree that the unit is abused and a lot of users think that its ok to use 2x a day, use the wrong brush head for their skin, not properly clean it and then wonder why their skin is producing more acne instead of seeing a reduction. The Clarisonic can be too stimulating on the skin for some folks which results in chaos. Everyone's skin is different so there is going to be positive/negative outcomes for those who use it. So if you won't truly know unless you try it for yourself. You also have to be aware of any other exfoliating products you're using. For example, don't use the Clarisonic and then turn around and apply a 17% glycolic acid serum. Yikes!! Too much exfoliation is actually bad for the skin that leads to skin damage and premature aging. My advice is purely what pitfalls to avoid so you can have a positive result. So stop having the internal debate and go get yourself one. Just be sure to buy it from a store who has a generous return policy in case it doesn't work out for you. :)

From the looks of the pic it looks like you have pretty nice skin. The reason I got the Clarisonic was because I have oily sensitive skin and I need exfoliation everyday but a lot of exfoliants irritate me or aren't enough. My skin had become so clogged up and I couldn't find anything to clear up my skin without irritating the hell out of me. I got the Clarisonic and I was able to use products that I know didn't jack up my face and I still got a thorough scrub down I needed. I also started with a lot more aha at the time and my skin loves it and is ten times better. It really helps make the products penetrate the skin better. Hope my rambling helps a little.

And like Shelley said I have to be super clean with my brush or I do break out more. I am one of the ppl who get positive results with 2x a day use. If I miss one time my face breaks out usually. I've battled acne since I turned 19 so it's a dream for me.

I'm on the fence about getting one as well. Revlon and oil of olay make a brush add well and both are a lot cheaper.

Thanks Shelley! I've heard that a lot of dermatologists don't like the Clarisonic, which was a reason why I'm iffy about it. I have prettys sensitive skin to begin with and don't plan on using it everyday...I'm sure my skin would flip out. I'm pretty gentle with my face and use gentle products, exfoliate 2 to 3 times a week and give it all the love I can :-). I will keep all that in mind though.

I do agree with Shelley I love my clarisonic and I do recommend it to clients but you have to no your skin you must use the appropriate brush for your skin type you don't need it more than once a day an for some skin types twice a week is enough for them, remember this is exfoliating your skin lightly so if your just starting to use it and use a lot of other exfoliating products go easy and you must clean the brush with antibacterial soap and replace it every 3 months abuse of any skincare tool will just defeat the purpose of it.

Traci, would dial soap be OK to use to clean the brush head? The cleanser I use is beeswax based and leaves a wax residue...which I like but I don't think the brush head will. I was thinking of switching to philosophys Purity cleanser since I've heard amazing things about it.

If its the antibacterial dial soap thats fine and purity is a great choice but if your cleanser is working for you ,you don't have to switch unless you want to.

I've had mine 2 years and use a brush head for acne prone skin. I have acne rosacea and using the clarisonic helps get my face completely clean to ward off breakouts. It's one of my holy grail beauty items and I'd highly recommend it for anyone

I agree with heather. It's made a difference in my skin because even though I have rosacea and sensitivity, it's oily in places and yet I have some dry patches, too. For me, I use the Mia 2 with a sensitive head probably 5 times a week and my dry patches are gone now. Shelley is right to post warnings, because not everyone will benefit and not everyone will use it correctly. I will say that the Olay brush is nothing like clarisonic's technology. It's like comparing a scooter to a Mini Cooper. No, neither is a monster truck, and both are faster than walking on foot, but one has a motor that's powerful and the other doesn't. One last note: you don't have to press the head in to your skin, the rotation will take care of the pressure, if that makes sense. Less is more! Good luck:)

I have one and I love it!! I have acne prone face and I use it every night. I feel like it is worth the money. My mom and I share it so I guess that was nice. On thing I have to say is if you get one you want to make sure your face brush is always clean!! If I were you I would buy it!!
