I agree with the ladies above on creating a good base with skin care, and using appropriate products suited for your skin type. Most of these photos & videos, are in fact re-touched and edited. The camera can also hide imperfections, on it's own without the help of re-touching.

Any sort of patting on of foundation. Airbrush makeup is sprayed on the face rather than buffed in or stroked on like a regular foundation. Using a stippling brush or stippling technique with a beauty blended it'll similarly pat on the foundation. Similar to an HD photograph, the more dots on an image the more HD it looks if that makes any sense
