Well if you look at my profile pics I have that kinda hair but a lot more tighter and textured. So they have to be natural but I know tht the top pic (Brandy) has extensions.

You can also use a barrel (wrap around) curling iron that's a really skinny one and wrap your hair around the end of the barrel and hairspray right away:)

Since your hair is curly try twist outs. Get a styling product that has a lot of hold and do many twist outs and sleep with them. Look up "Shameless Maya Twist Out" she has a video on it.
