Powder foundation is pigmented. Setting powder is usually translucent and more finely milled than powder foundation.

Yes I second the Rimmel stay matte powder, it's a drugstore brand, it's my HG powder :-)

I've never been a huge fan of the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. I found it never kept me matte for more than an hour or 2. I personally love Marcelle Pressed Powder.

I honestly don't know where you get that in the usa we don't have Ulta in Canada. I get it at Shoppers Drug Mart or Target. They have really nice products, they also have a loose setting powder but I personally like the Pressed Powder better for keeping me oil free. Here's their website (:

Whether it is pressed or loose doesn't define whether it is powder foundation or setting powder as it can be vice versa. Can I just also highlight that powder foundation can be used to set foundation, it will just increase coverage.

Along with the above comments, you can also use a powder foundation like a setting powder on top of your liquid foundation to add extra coverage (:

Setting powder is translucent and is meant for keep your liquid foundation and concealer from moving around and also keeps your look matte. A powder foundation is a powder that is pigmented as to give you a bit of lighter coverage or a build able coverage. Mineral and powder foundation is also good for those with oily or acne prone skin. Don't worry! I didn't know the difference between the two for a really long time! Lol personally, I love the Rimmel stay matte powder. It's a setting powder that is almost translucent and it keeps everything in place. I use it to set cosplay makeup and makeup on summer days. I really live it and think it works amazingly!
