I have extremely dry skin. I moisturize and exfoliate but I just feel like my foundation is still a little flaky and dry looking around my nose especially. I use Revlon Colorstay for normal to dry skin right now. Any suggestions on a foundation that would make me not so flaky and look sort or dewy?

You might want to consider a creme foundation. I recommend Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation. If you don't want heavy coverage also consider using a bb cream. Also use a primer under your foundation such as Korres Primer.

I use Kat Von D lock it.. as a primer I was benefit 15 hour stay (think that's what it's called) no matter what foundation you use it always helps to put a moisturizer on before. I use an Avenoo moisturizer.

Oh also with dry skin, avoid using a foundation or primer that contains silicone. Silicone will generally cling to dry patches.

I use a primer but it's not very hydrating so I may need to switch to a more hydrating primer. I'll look into all these foundations. I need to make a switch. I can't deal with flakiness any longer!! Thank you all! (:

Shauna, that may be my problem then. My primer is silicone based. I'll definitely have to switch.

I know this isn't foundation-related, but have you ever tried a hydrating finishing powder?

Well I'm not too experienced with them, so I wouldn't be the most knowledgeable person to ask. However, I know only a few companies offer them. I know we (bareMinerals) have one, but I believe Stila, Paula's Choice and Smashbox also have them.

Agree with Laura Mercier Silk Creme, I love that for my dry skin. Especially in the winter :)
Also, not a foundation, but I loved using the Origins Drink Up face mask. That really helped my skin and foundation to look good. I noticed a difference after just one use, I love it :)

I suggest the L'Oreal Magic Lumi foundation. I have very dry skin, and when I wear that foundation you cannor see any dry patches or cleanliness at all. It gives me a beautiful natural shine. And stays put... I forever will be a fan.:)
