Holes In My Compact?!??,

I noticed that a few of my compact powders that hold a sponge or puff underneath have small holes on the bottom or large like the picture provided. I just want to know why companies do this, what is the reasoning behind this package design -thanks❤️

It is for letting the excess loose powder (that has fallen off the sponge while applying) out of the container for hygiene reasons.
