Background: I'm an active 40 year old with oily/combo aging skin. Since turning the big 4-0 I noticed my cell-turn over has been a bit sluggish so I'm having to use more aggressive products to get it to speed up just a tad. I spend a lot of time outdoors...cycling, kayaking and just doing stuff as simple as sitting in my backyard enjoying a glass of wine. So I'm very big on sunscreen beacause I'm prone to getting these pesky sun spots and these moles nicknamed the Morgan Freeman's (name given by dermo community). Along with the spf moisturizing is major for me as well to keep my oil production in check hence the reason I picked up a few goodies from the Caudalie line. Prior to applying to face I conducted a patch test behind the back of my ear to see if I experience a reaction. Check. No reaction so I proceeded full steam ahead. Within the Caudalie line I picked up the Vinosource Creme Sorbet moisturizer and SOS Thirst Quenching Serum. After cleansing, light exfoliation and toner I applied the serum which has a semi-watery texture and a light fragrance. I patted that into my skin and waited a few moments before sealing in the goodness with the Creme Sorbet. Immediately after application my skin did have a nice glow and looked super smooth. My skin didn't feel tight at all and I was quite impressed.
Next morning...different story. Before even looking in the mirror my skin felt sucked dry of life. To the touch I felt nothing but dry skin...not moisturized skin. When I did look in the mirror my skin looked dehydrated with zero vibrancy. I didnt have any breaking out of any kind but I knew my skin was not pleased. I gave it a few days...applying only in the PM and it was the same result every time. After three days I called my husband and asked for his opinion as to why my skin is not reacting well to the two products. He is in the cosmetic biz and freshly minted practicing dermo and reasearcher so I value his opinion (sometimes). He simply stated that my skin demands far more moisture than what the two items were willing to offer and I need to reach for the more intensive stuff (peptide moisturizers with B5 and all the other good stuff for anti-aging). He added that what I picked up is great for someone getting their feet wet with pre anti-aging products because of its antioxidant properties and that aging skin requires a more intensive moisturizer.
So while it didnt work for me I cannot bash it because it wasn't fit for my thirsty skin. I do recommend this to younger beauties in the 20-35 range who are looking for something a little more intense than what is offered at the drugstore level. I did manage to snag a few goodies from another line that is more align to what my skin needs and I will post deets about that one soon as I just started playing around with that one.

@Traci they have another line within Caudalie that is more intense and align with us older folks but I wasnt reminded of that till chatting with my husband. I believe it comes in yellow silver packaging. @Diana...that it is expensive for the amount of product you receive but most definitely...French skin care isn't exactly cheap.

Traci...the gold box...another addiction of mine...YSL Glossy Lipstain in Rose Vinyl and the lil tube is a deluxe sample of a Clarins moisturizing sunscreen. Haven't tried that one yet but I'm curious to see how it is. And the Philosophy C Booster...I go thru a lot of bottles of those because I also mix it into my neck/chest cream.

When you do Traci don't order online unless you swatched in-store because the color detail is so far off online. And some shades play better than others especially in the pigmentation department.
