Talc, women. There is talc in this product. This is the same stuff we throw in our shoes to absorb moisture before you go running. Hence, it's going to clog your pores because it's drawn to moisture. If you've ever used this product and notice that it covers heavily in certain areas and scarcely covers other areas, it's because this is where your pores are the largest. Since its siting in your pores, I hope I don't have to explain the repercussions your skin suffer but dry skin build up, dull skin, and textural issues are a few to name.

Plus, I'd be skeptical of any company that advertises that their "makeup is so healthy you can even sleep in it!". Wow. No, no, no.

Pür minerals is SOOOOO much better than BareMinerals. :) try them out<3 It's not bad for you and it's not necessarily "dirt". It's minerals, which are A LOT better for your skin than harsh chemicals found in other foundations. But BareMinerals contains a man-made mineral called Bismuth Oxychloride which, in most cases, reacts badly with the skin causing breakouts. Which is why I recommend Pür Minerals. They don't use Bismuth Oxychloride, or talc (which can also cause breakouts), and pür minerals also contains lots of skin nourishing ingredients. Hope I helped :)

Avery, not most foundations have talc. If its in your shadow, that's one thing due to pores not being large on your lids. I always check the ingredients in my products beforehand. If you're using a blush or powder with talc, there are several, several options to change to that don't.

I use pur mineral blush bronzer and eyeshadow. Most makeup isn't great for your skin anyways. I try not to wear much since its best to let your skin breathe. Talc is also called magnesium silicate as well. Many companies refer to it as that on the ingredient list.

BareMinerals is made up of the same mineral compound as dirt. I know it's horrible to hear, but it is absolutely true. if you look up the mineral compound and compare it to dirt it is the same. Dirt is made of minerals. I have nothing against it, but I've worked with the product for years and have yet to recommend it to anyone. It works best on teenagers and the coverage isn't that great. You have to swirl, tap, and buff yourself insane. It's a fad. Look at the ingredients of other powder foundations. Now a days, they are just as good, even better than the mineral foundations. Try Josie Maran color adjusting powder foundation, Korres powder foundation, tarte, Laura mercier, or even urban decay.

Talc isn't considered a comedogenic ingredient. It's an IRRITANT. Talc is in almost every skincare product, especially ones with SPF. Besides, talc is also a mineral. Why do you use talc in your shoes? To absorb. Why do you powder your face? To absorb.

I don't think so! BareMinerals is like the healthiest foundation there is

This was my first makeup as a child it's very natural looking but looks very caked on me.. Everyone in my family who used this doesn't use it anymore because it was just a fad!

None of the products I use have talc in them. There are other minerals that absorb oil that don't clog pores. Your feet are one thing, your face is another.

I've found the bare mineral brands colours to be too orange for me. I don't mind pur minerals powder on days when I don't want to put liquid foundation on.

I agree, Avery. I love pur minerals.

I didn't say talc was a good mineral. It's an irritant that's a common ingredient. Using powder foundations isn't for every skin type. The only powder my face does well with is bronzer and blush.

I was just stating why the company puts talc in their product.

But because talc isn't considered a 'comedogenic' ingredient, products labeled 'non-comedogenic' can still contain it.
