Foundation of course! I remember using the blue cover girl cream compact for years before I was thrown into the glorious world of..options haha. I grew up on an island in Alaska so I didn't have much to choose from outside of the pharmacy. Looking back I can't believe I was satisfied with the stuff for so long! From what I haven't blocked out I also recall using the brown CG powder compact with it..and of course lots of black liner😉. What did you lovelies use back in the day? Any stand out items that you'd never turn back to?

Oh gosh, what a fun quistion!! I don't even remember which one I used! I stoped using foundation when I was around 18 I think, and only just started using bb cream again at 26! But I do remember that I, when I started using foundation, always picked a way to dark color for my skin, haha I must have looked a mess!

My first foundation was Revlon Colorstay that was completely different from what they have out now. Back in 1990. It was so a great seamless finish and wasn't so matte that my skin looked parched. I even remember the shape of the bottle...oval and it retailed for $7.99 at Sav-On/Osco Drugs. I also used the corresponding loose powder. I thought I was doing something major. Fast forward to present day...its now a completely different formula and I've explored so many other foundations that outperforms Revlon that you couldn't pay me to go back.

@sabrina lol! I hear that..I was always either a shade lighter/darker :/ couldn't have told me a thing haha!
@shelley- you're a flippin colorstay veteran! It's no wonder you're so revered around here 😉 It's interesting that the formula has changed so much and ppl are still crazy about it..I wonder how the old formula would go over these days. You're ahead of the game!

I started using the cover girl powder (brown and the green one) when I was in middle school maybe. I loved that stuff. I can still remember how it smelled too. I think the first liquid foundation I used was maybe Loreal true match (has it been around that long?) and I.just applied like a drop and smeared it around with my finger then loaded on my cg powder. oh, I was also into being super pale so I would mix in a dab of white Halloween face makeup...it went awesome with my black lipstick and Marilyn MANSON shirts :-/ I'm sure I looked.like a train wreck back then!

I don't really have much of a history w/foundation, my first foundation was actually Revlon Photoready. I remember it being kinda pricey $12 about(At the time I thought this was pricey, lol) runny, not to many colors that are WOC friendly, I picked the darkest color my Walmart carried Cappuccino, which even then learned a little too orange on me :/ Its loaded w/shimmer, ppl would always notice and comment on how sparkly I looked :/. Even so I tried my best to matte it down and continued using it, the staying power sucked and it got unbelieveably greasy throughout the day. I stored it away and when my hyper pigmentation started getting worse and demanded to be covered I brought it out again and tried it, and I hated it, my skin tone had changed since I wasn't living on the beach anymore it was too dark and too orange, I gave up and chucked it. Now I use Revlon Colorstay and its a drugstore dream come true, lol.

My very first foundation was Fashion Fair cosmetics. My mom had my face done at a Fashion Fair counter for my 8th grade prom. Thus beginning my love for the makeup counters in the department stores. My first drugstore was covergirl.
