Your skin is probably dry to begin with and you aren't using the correct foundation to help/ cataract the dryness. I don't really know which one to buy for you because I'm not a professional in makeup but maybe try some lotion before putting on foundation?

It comes down to skin care. I use to get really bad patches so at night before I went to bed I would add a good slap or body butter or Vaseline to the areas and leave them on over night and wash my face as norm in the morning and use a light moisturiser. Liquid foundations I find are good for dry skin I'm using the max factor colour adapt foundation which is just fab!

It could be a lot of reasons. Could be your skin care routine, diet, or the product is just not compatible with your skin. Drink lots of water and change up your skin routine. For an exfoliate I would use like a gel or a milk exfoliate. Those are just more hydrating for your skin. And pick a really good moisturizer... Clean your makeup brushes when your also applying your foundation. Just little things like that do make a difference. Change it up a bit and see what happens love :)

Would you consider your skin to be combo or dry all over? What foundation and primer are you using? As for skin care I recommend CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser and their Moisturizers. I agree with what everyone else mentioned, like cleaning your makeup brushes or sponges and also maybe try a different application method as well. I have found Sephora's Pro Airbrush #56 to be the best for applying my makeup. You need to have a basic routine you do before applying your makeup; here's mine-
1)wash face
2)moisturize
3)prime and then wait for that to soak in before applying your foundation.

Also you may want to use setting sprays and possibly a different setting powder as well.
