I think Real Techniques are a great bargain and good starter brushes...IMO, Sigma are a little overhyped (though fine, and clearly a lot of people disagree with me :)).

Real techniques are my favorite and they are affordable! They come in little sets or you can buy them separate... They have a ton on brushes too!
