I am not sure if I put this in the right category. I am going back to school shopping soon and I was wondering what things are "in style" right now. And I what I should buy. But my school have a strict dress code: no shorts above fingertips and no legging. So I have no idea what to get!
Pics appreciated!!

Wow. no leggings? even if you wear something that covers your butt? wow, I get the short shorts part but leggings...
anyway, you can get loads of skinny jeans, cute crop tops, skirts... white short tennis shoes are in..

The sweater has to be fingertip length if I wear leggings!!

That rule is messed up. You poor thing, having to follow a stupid rule like that :(

But anyways, I would get a crap load of skinny jeans, jeggings and tight fitting pants. People wear those a lot. Oh and shorts that fit the dress code as well as some tank tops that are dress code.

Well it's partly messed up. I don't like the fingertip rule since everyone's bodies are differently shaped. It's not fair to the people who have long arms. Like me. All I can wear are pants and cupris.
The leggings part I can see though depending on the girls at your school. At my school we have girls pretty much giving themselves wedgies to show off their butts the guys and they will stick their butts out to show it even more.

Now to answer your questions. Jeans, skinny jeans or boot cut. Shoes, really anything you like. No one really judges the shoes. Shirts, long sleeve sweater shirts, t-shirts, tank tops if your school will allow, hoodies, and plain colored shirts. For skirts I really like the shirt pencil skirts. Also maxi dresses and skirts seem to be in. Also when it's cold you might want a jacket of some kind.

I don't find it strict or stupid. Better get use to it because in the work force, you will have dress codes as well. I will agree that the finger tip thing can be flawed. Anyway to answer your question: Just go to clothing stores and try on a bunch of things. If you want to wear leggings, there are long sweaters you can buy for that reason. Jeans jeans and more jeans. Jeans are universal and can match anything. Get some accessories to put together an outfit

Pretty much almost every school has that rule, and I don't find it stupid either. Better than females walking around showing their ass cheeks and wearing skin tight almost always see through leggings lmao! I mean I'm all for wearing as you please, but school is school lol. there's no need for that.

Yeah you're at school to learn-should be anyway. It seems it's nothing more than a popularity/fashion/beauty contest. I understand your frustration with it but all your life you will have to follow regulations and rules. Just be glad you aren't wearing uniforms! lol.

At my old school (going to highschool this year) we weren't allowed to wear tank tops, flip-flops, open-toed shoes, short shorts, and lace/see through shirts! I am so glad I'm leaving! Lol!

Oh my gosh I wore leggings everyday in high school because they're just so comfy. I don't even know what I would have worn had they been banned lol!

Kate I know just how you feel. I can't wear leggings unless the shirt covers my butt. And I don't have many shirts that do that. And my school dress code is like that. We can't wear shorts that are above our fingertips. It is stricter than that. I wear a lot of skinny jeans:) it's kinda like leggings, but denim. If that makes sense...
