So, I have been doing freelance makeup artistry and hair for a while now and I think I'm ready to get a "real job" as my friends say lol. There are some openings at my local Clinique and Lancôme stores, along with several other beauty stores. What would be a good makeup look? I usually wear a lot but I don't want to look like I'm trying too hard. Does anyone else work somewhere similar and if so what is your day-to-day makeup for work?

Honestly if you're looking to get a job in makeup you should go for something that highlights your skill set while still makes you look like you understand practical makeup in certain situations. A perfectly blended smokey eye that isn't too extreme is usually impressive, or something neutral with a pop of colour! You could also go with neutral eyes some perfectly applied winged liner and a bold lip! Also make sure your eyebrows are on point. Honestly as long as your makeup looks good and practical you will impress!

I think neutral eyes, winged liner, and a bold lip would be perfect, as Brittany said! I think keeping it simple is key, just as long as it looks perfect, you'll be fine haha:)

Take the weather into account when you do your makeup as well. You don't want to be a sweaty, orange mess walking in to look for a job. I think a cat eye and red lips go great for any occasion and any weather. Groom your brows and add subtle highlight to the inner corners of your eyes and on top of your brow bone. Add a little blush and/or bronzer to bring life back into your face. Slicking your hair back into a too bun usually creates a very professional look without looking like you're over the top.
