For upper lip hair I use Veet's waxing strips for sensitive skin.

Any of Gigi waxing products are great to get the job done. You can purchase it from Sally's, and they usually have some bundle going on where you can get basically everything you need for a good price. And I believe their waxes are buy one, get one free right now. ;) There are soooo many to choose from. The espresso wax smells like heaven lol. Tips wise, don't be afraid. I'd you hesitate while pulling the strip, you're going to end up giving yourself bruises and possibly bleed depending on where you're waxing. Make sure you're using the correct wax and applicators for the area you're waxing. Oh, and I would suggest purchasing the muslim paper strips, rather than the cloth ones.

For facial waxing I use Anastasia's Pro Wax kit. It works really well and doesn't irritate my skin, unlike most other waxes.
