Love the maybelline eyestudio gel liner, also if you have a daiso store nearby, their gel eyeliner is really nice quality, , especially for $2.80 it does take a little longer to set than other eyeliners though.

I used MAC Fluidline gel eyeliner for about a decade and it WAS great, but I feel like the quality went down or it was reformulated or something so I switched back to liquid liner. If you did want to use a gel, I find the brush makes the difference in application. I personally love MAC's 266 small angled brush for gel liner but its usually a personal preference. Bobbi Brown's gel liner is also pretty good, I would often buy that IF MAC was out of their Fluidline and I was happy with the results. I definitely recommend using a liquid liner in pen form if you're a beginner. I love Kat Von D's Tattoo Liner and Stila's Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Liner Pen as far as "high end" goes, about $18-$20 for a liner pen. For a lower priced option, I really love the bh Cosmetics Liquid Eyeliner Pen. I think Its about $4 and I found it comparable in quality to the Stila and KVD. There are plenty of quality products out there, but I think its a matter of finding the kind of apllication method you are the most comfortable with and find the easiest to control (pen vs liner brush vs angles brush ect)

I hear lots of great things about Inglot's gel liner. You can get it here on BL and it comes in a ton of colors :)
