When I used tea tree products they made my skin feel like it was burning. And it left me with a bunch of red spots. Apparently that was "normal" but I returned everything, because I couldn't take it.

Hey! Yes, it can irritate your skin a lot. I was using it a while ago for acne and I diluted it properly and everything and I ended up with MAJOR problems. I got a huge rash on my face that wouldn't go away for weeks even with hydrocortisone. I had to go to my derm. Now I only use it on small sections or a pimple, but not on my whole face. And I have found diluting it in some oil (castor or olive oil, whichever you prefer) has worked perfectly and doesn't irritate or sting my face. Now I have no problems!
