I got my hair done 2 days ago, it is a reddish brown with red highlights and I adore it! I bought nexxus color care shampoo and conditioner, and now I'm wondering if there are any extra hair products that I can use to keep my hair looking pretty as long as possible :) I work out every morning and sweat like a pig so not washing my hair daily is NOT an option.

Okay red and reddish tones are the hardest color to keep from fading. I wash my hair in cold water and sometimes I'll just use conditioner or just wet my hair for styling. Try to minimize heat damage if possible or use a good heat protector (Its A 10 is definitely my favorite). I also recommend John Frieda Color Glosses to help revive the color every so often. I have also used a purple shampoo for red/brunette tones instead of blonde (it was difficult to find so I ended up ordering online and I found one at a Sally's Beauty).

Thank you! I tend to sick to reds because of my skin tone and freckles. :) I just wish they didnt fade so fast because getting it done professionally is expensive.

Organix Moroccan argan oil shampoo because it doesn't have sulfate! :D if you use this or any shampoo with out sulfate in it it maintains your hair and doesn't strip the color.

I know I'm late to the party, but here's what works for me:
1. Cold water. Also just limit your water exposure: leaving your hair under running water will fade it like crazy. Try to keep it out of the water, I.e. get into the shower, wet your hair, wash your hair, condition your hair, and then throw it up in a bun and keep it way the hell out of the water.
2. Sulfate and sodium chloride free shampoo and conditioner. L'oreal EverPure is great for this, it's not expensive and it's very effective.
3. Dry shampoo is your friend. I understand that you work out, so here are a few tips for that: put your hair in a high bun, not a ponytail (the ends will stick to your sweaty neck), use a sweat wicking headband (you may feel totally ridiculous, but it will help absorb sweat that your hair would), and finally, even if you shower, you don't always have to wash your hair (I know this can be kind of hard to do, but just put your hair up before you shower and don't wash it, but wash the rest of yourself), especially if you're not doing anything at all that day. Seriously, if you have no one to impress, nowhere to go, and nothing to do, washing your hair is optional. you just kind of have to get used to it (and it's much easier to get used to if your face and body are both clean).
That's more or less what I do. My hair hasn't faded at all, and it's been 2 months since I dyed it.
