Aquaphor is petroleum based, so I wouldn't recommend using it on the face if you have sensitive and or acne prone skin.

Do you have any lighter lotions, like baby lotion, or cocoa butter. That may help.

Yes, it is completely fine to use. Petroleum is too thick to clog the pores on your skin, but I would not get them on any of the oily parts of your skin otherwise the oil will become trapped there.

A really good trick for hydrating really dry skin is using a serum or good moisturizer, then put aquaphor or vaseline over that and sleep in it. It'll seriously lock in the moisture and makes your skin AMAZING the next morning! Works on all parts of the body too!
