It's no really a. Smokey eye because the dark doesn't really blend over the crease

From what I've learned, that looks to be a gradient eye or a bombshell eye. it's gorgeous. it's just not a smoky eye.

Your eyeshadow is definitely a smoky eye. In the picture I'm attaching, a gradient eye is the left picture. It goes from light to dark, starting from the inner corner and getting darker in the outer corner. The right picture is a true smoky eye (which is what you have) where the color travels from dark to light going up from the lash line. It might be how the light hit the shadow in the picture, but you definitely are wearing a smoky eye!

I would have to agree with Kaitlin, this is a lovely smokey eye. I assume the center looks lighter due to the reflection of light, as it doesn't look lighter in the open eye photo. That's a really lovely metallic shade you've chosen, and I like this look a lot!

You guys are all confusing me haha! Yeah it isn't a gradient eye. Its funny cause I didn't even question whether it was a smokey eye when I posted this.

Oh thank you! Yeah the center looks lighter because I used a duochrome color on top I'm guessing :) I love your looks Hannah, I loved the palette parade week thing you did.

Aw thanks Molly, I meant to keep doing that but then finals week happened and everything lost all meaning. Again, don't be confused, you've got a smokey eye =)

I want to ask some of the ladies why it wouldn't be a smokey eye? I'm asking this because when smokey eye threads are made people seem to be quick to answer no but they never explain why or how to achieve the look.

Hannah, you should do one with the Electric palette :) did you get the Chrysalis palette too or just the Monarch?

Jul 11, 2014

Molly S.

Thanks Alma! I love your profile picture, I remember going through your pictures a while back to like it but I never found it haha.

Maybe I'm seeing the colors wrong, I see it going from blue to black to blue to black. If that makes sense lol. Maybe it's casting a shadow. I love the color of the blue.

Hannah K.

I can totally do the Electric palette, and I have the Chrysalis as well =)

Jul 11, 2014

Molly S.

I have both as well, you should definitely do a Chrysalis week too! I love them so much, I'm so glad I ended up getting both.

They're great, right??

I love them. I honestly love Monarch more than my Lorac Pro, which has always been my favorite palette. And the frosty lavender grey color I'm Chrysalis is so beautiful. And the matte brown in Monarch (I think) is a dupe for Naked 2, which is my favorite transition color.
