Wow, I just stumbled across this picture from a while back when I went in for a makeover at sephora. I think I'll stick to doing my own makeup...

Anyone else had terrible sephora makeovers? :p.

Same thing happened to my friend! Went in for help on a "natural" eye look and got a black smokey eye that looked like she got punched

I've never been anywhere to have my makeup done. I think I'm going to keep it that way lol

Jacqlyn, mine was free as a promotional thing. But you had to be on a reservation list and had to get a $75 Ulta gift card to get a reservation.

I have hated when Sephora did my makeup (also Ulta). I stick with going to MAC whenever I want my makeup professionally done.

This is surprising to me as I have never gone to a d.s to have my makeup done, I was recently considering how nice it would be to have a "professional" do mine! mmm not always so nice ay!!

Yeah mine was free at an event. I'd never pay for a makeover when I enjoy doing it myself so much :p.

I've never got my makeup down by them. But I was in this play and this 'PROFESSIONAL' make-up artist did my make up? It looked like I did it. I'm like that's it? At the time I didn't know anything about make up too much , but damn she just added 2 or 3 colors and it was the best she did. If you wanted it done personally it was 150$? She could keep her money. Sephora/Ulta have all the really good makeup and tools?. And your telling me that's all they did @Molly and @Kirsten.

Yeah I hate "professional" makeup artists doing my makeup. I just haven't had a good experience yet :\

Tell me about it! I've seen so many girls on YouTube and stuff using luxury brands like Hourglass, Dior, Rouge Bunny, and they just like, slap it on their face and call it good :p.

I have gotten my makeup done at sephora twice. One was wonderful and the other was not very good. The first time was fairy makeup many years ago done by a truly gifted mua who still helps me at my local sephora to this day. The other was more recent done by a lady who gave me an orange contour

I've only had my brows filled in at Sephora and it was awful!

My sister got a "makeover" once and she asked for a neutral eyeshadow look and it looked like nothing was there at allll 😂 like it just looked like her plain eyelid!

I had a decent makeover at Clinique I was happy with.

But whether it be Sephora, Clinique, etc. I'm telling you, these people cannot color match you! The unnatural lighting makes it impossible. I always have to exchange foundation for a different shade! I've learned to trust my gut and just pick what I think would match best.

My god, these are dreadful! Do the 'artists' even know the concept of blending?
I once had a makeover done at The Body Shop, and omg I loved it! It was free too
