I have dyed my hair about 10 times all together , one stage I wanted to go blonde so I used 2 boxes of a super light blonde it never did anything, recently I really want to go brown but I used a dye and it didn't do anything, why is it that hair dye just doesn't work for me? And how can I get it to work?

You might wanna try a hair saloon.

I'd strip your hair of all colour, then try it. Or try a different box dye.

Would that cost a lot?

I agree with the salon, if you don't want to do that then I agree with Hannah K. about stripping your hair of color first and then trying to put dye in. Also just remember to carefully read directions for box dyes. There's a very good chance you may not be leaving it in long enough or maybe you need to leave it in longer.

It depends where you went, if it was a local salon it'd be cheaper than going to a massively coveted 'celebrity' owned salon.

Usually prices are lower in small towns, but within the same city or town, you usually get what you pay for. Do your research, ask people, go on yelp maybe, but really make sure they're knowledgeable and professional.
Anyway, my opinion on your situation is that you did too much to your hair and it's just rejecting the dye because your hair shaft's scales are just staying open and they won't go back for some reason - probably damage. I'd actually get a nice chop but that's just me. See a hairdresser and they'll be able to know what's wrong by examining your hair! Good luck!
