Ask Hannah she's one of the mods on here and she had her hair a similar shade of purple. I think the brand she uses is Pravanna.

Hannah does use pravana.
You have to understand that veggie dyes (unnatural colors) are very person. For example, my favorite hair dye is special effects. It lasts long on my hair and works the best for me. Manic panic is second best for me. I can go 2 months without redying with manic panic. But on some people's hair it washes out in a week. It depends on the porosity of your hair, the condition of your hair, how light it is, how long you leave it on, how potent the dye is etc. it's trial and error till you find the right one.
Keep in mind you'll have to bleach or it'll be just a slight tint. Plus bleaching opens your hair shaft making it more porous and letting dye soak in better, lasting longer.

I love manic panic and I'm pretty sure they have a super dark purple color like that! If not I also think loreal feria has a line of dyes that have really vibrant colors, although that would damage your hair more.

Manic panic and directions! But for permanent dye I Know L'oreal have a special line for dark hair with colors like purple, red, blue and orange!

Mine is on top of completley bleached hair, so it isn't as Dark as the katy perry purple color.

I was going to say that, Maggie :) you can't go wrong asking Hannah W. She uses Pravana. I, on the other hand, have used Directions, Stargazer and Crazy Color dyes. Probably Manic Panic will have the right shade you want because they just have more. Just a heads up, the Crazy Color dye in Violette is actually Indigo, so it's a very blue purple.

When I had purple I used this one brand that ended up black on my hair. later I went. over it with splats purple and it turned out amazing for me and very similar to the colour you want. just my experience though.
