I have a question... what is your opinion on acrylic nails and real natural nails??

I think acrylic nails are so beautiful and gorgeous but my friend said they hurt sometimes an they're really damaging on the nails (I've personally never had them) and I love my real natural nails bc I can keep them healthy and I can still paint them (:

I prefer natural nails and painting cause I am too lazy for acrylic nails.

Acrylics can look so so great on people with shorter nail beds but they have to be applied properly of course! Haha I adore my natural nails though, I've never worn acrylics because I have super long natural nails but it really depends on the person!

There are a lot of problem you can cause to your natural nails with bad acrylics so if you get it done you should be careful of the chemicals the salon uses in their mix - if they are wearing face masks while they do it - probably not a good sign... But they are nice for special occasions ( I've only ever had them done once in my life for prom and that was it) for the most part I like natural manicures better :)

I guess the main thing is the possibility of getting nail infections with acrylics - here is an article that discusses that http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-living/adult-health/expert-answers/acrylic-nails/faq-20057849.

I love acrylic but preffer gel because they are stronger and less likely to chip or break in comparison to natural nails.

The only way you would get an infection is if you don't maintain them as if not getting a refill when ever you need it...if water gets trapped in your nail in between the critic and your actual now of course you will get a fungus that's why you have to maintain it. on the other hand it does get pretty.expensive I spend about 50 every two weeks on my nails.

If you get quality nails, with quality product. Good product is softer, does less damage to nail. Also, very important... is sanitation. Implements should be in sealed, sterile bags. Baths should be sanatized in front if you. There should be a list, in plan site, of every time baths, and station have been sanitized (after and before each client). Files, buffers have to be new. And disposed of after each use. Nails are pretty complicated... so much credit to those who can do them
Gel tips may be a good option too... I use to have mine built... I loved those... but I keep them very short now

Btw... you can ask for a mask too. Nail tech are exposed to this stuff for at least 8 hrs or more a day. The dust alone is bad for respitory system, not to mention fumes.

Personally I like acrylics better because they feel and act stronger and are just beautiful. it's hard for me to grow my real nails out because they're very weak which sucks and it doesn't help that I'm a nail biter and being a cashier, I think it's important for my nails to always look their best just cause my customers always have a good view of my hands and see if my nails are tacky or not. however, the only true cons of acrylics are 1. how expensive they can be and 2. trying to peel them off when it's time! can lead to some good amount of pain
