I use translucent powder and I swatch the foundation on my skin once to see if it's my color and make sure you bring makeup remover wipes (; Translucent powder will keep your face matte w/o caking up (: I recommend Rimmel stay matte which Is very cheap and the best powder I've used from the drugstore! Foundation depends on your skin type!

It should match your neck. Find your undertone too, as some foundations go by that as well as the shade. For powder, I'd just use a translucent powder. My personal foundation favorites are Mac's face and body and L'oreal true match. As for powders I've been using Elf's translucent pressed powder or Mac's natural skin finish.
