So I had been using Proactiv+ for about 4 months and it worked well for my skin. About a week ago I ran out of it and decided to use different products. my skin broke out like CRAZY all over my face. worse than before I started proactiv. I googled this and found that a lot of people had the same issue where their skin got used to the chemicals in proactiv and when they stopped using it, they broke out bad too. I am currently using the tea tree skin care line from the body shop along with a couple other products. Has this happened to anyone else? will my breakouts ever go away?

I wish Traci was still here she is an esthetician. She was so helpful to me. But I think that's interesting. Most skin gets use to the skin products being used and usually they stop working. So you're skin seemed to react well with proactiv. I think right now you're skin is dependent on the proactiv. I suggest seeing an esthetician or a dermatologist. And for the current moment keep
your face clean and use minimal make up as possible.

Well when I used to use pro active it was okay but to be honest didnt help to much but after I stopped using it omg I started to break out so much and my doctor said that it was because my skin was so used to the product that when I stopped it went back to what it used to be so I ended up just totally stopping pro active and now see a derm and now my skin is finally seeing some improvement so don't be scared they will go away :D

Thannk you both! I was so scared because my breakouts are so much worse than before I even started proactiv. I will never use it again but I will most likely go to the dermatologist!

That's Proactive's intentions to use this product and when it's all used up, your skin will crave for more in results to break out even more than what you started with, therefore they win bc then you will want and need to repurchase their product.
