I was wondering about pressed powder foundation in general. How is the coverage? Is it ideal for oily skin? Would I still need a BB Cream or can I just wear that alone? Thanks for the help, I'm a noob with foundations.

I guess you can wear it alone, but it could by drying to your skin. I use pressed powder, but only over liquid foundation

It depends on your skin type & the coverage you want. In my experience you can find excellent pressed powder foundation but you may have to pay more to get the finish & coverage you like without it looking cakey. I have been pressed with the Clinique perfectly real powder. It's around $26 I think.

I'm kinda stuck then because I'm really oily, but I don't really need much coverage. I currently only wear a little BB cream mostly on my cheeks and nose, and then just translucent pressed powder, Stay Matte by Rimmel. I wanna just look smooth and not turn oily after a freaking hour at work. :(

The coverage can vary based on what you used underneath, your skin type and if applied with a puff (fuller coverage) or a brush (lighter coverage). It's good for oily skin as long as it's non comedogenic. I'm sure you at least need moisturizer or primer under powder foundation.
