BB creams are a lot lighter and foundation is more heavy and has better coverage.. BB creams are usually for the summer because they aren't cakey (:

Ashlen, that's incorrect.BB creams have various skin benefits and you can find ones that have really good coverage, and they also contain high SPF.foundation is only about covering imperfections and evening out your skin tone.

Okay, let's do it this way.
Foundation: It's designed to give more coverage to the skin, though some are light coverage, and it is not designed to provide benefits for your skin.
BB Cream: It is a "blemish balm," designed to provide benefits to your skin while also giving coverage. I will say, though, that American BB creams are nothing more than tinted moisturizers, and truly don't provide any benefits to your skin, though they claim it. if you'd like a real BB cream, try Korean BB creams like Lioele, Holika Holika and Skin 79.

This is just my opinion and why I'm not to keen on the hype of BB cream. When it comes to BB creams it's a hype product with really no value for use since everything has change and provide more for skin then before the product is not really my cup of tea when it comes to skin texture and application If your too dry it grabs onto dry skin even if you have a routine of prep and if your too oily it slides off and builds on the oils and if your combo it can be a combo mess all around. This is a product of waste with truly no value you can have a sheer light foundation that can basically give you the basic results and coverage.I don't find that BB creams cover or correct anything. It's just a basic product for the masses that may not understand makeup and so this is just to ease the stress of so many.Hope I made sense :)

I've used Korean BB creams and would disagree about them not covering or correct. I've used the skin79 orange label bb cream which is aimed for oily skin. It claims to have control oil, reduce appearance of pores, brighten, fade wrinkles, moisturize and protect the skin with SPF50. It definitely worked well at controlling oil, making my pores look smaller, brighten up my face, moisturize and prevent me from getting a tan. This product has physical sunscreen and I noticed my face looked a tad lighter without makeup due to it's sunscreen which is good. It definitely controlled my oil better than any foundation and I didn't really set my face with powder. I did put some powder under the eyes but it didn't crease like concealer does, it hardly creased at all. So I had it on without powder and it made my face look slightly dewy but it stayed that way all day. It never looked like I was super greasy. I would say that it is moisturizing. I usually pumped the bb cream on a clean disk and one morning it pumped out too much and by the end of the day I saw the excess product on the disk and it didn't dry. It was still about the same consistency as when I first pumped some out. With foundations it'd be completely dry so I feel it'd help keep moisture on the skin
