Everytime something happens I have to shop mostly for makeup it doesn't matter stuff that I don't need or already have a ton of I'm becoming a compulsive shopper. I just bought a body butter from soap & glory just to be buying something! Plus I redeemed a bunch of my sephora points. And this is after a $70 lush haul a trip to the Mac counter & sephora just a few days ago. Anyone else have this problem?? Help!!

What helps me is I have budget lists set in my phone for bills/groceries, savings and fun/extra stuff. before I can buy anything from my fun list my other lists have to be cleared. I also have a strict $10 weekly budget for lunches.

Well I feel the same urge to buy makeup after something happens and sometimes I even go to sephora, ulta or start checking online but fortunately I'm cheap lol so 90% of the time I don't buy anything.

It sounds like you have associated stress relief with shopping, which isn't probably good for your wallet, lol! So, try finding another outlet for relief. Such as maybe trying out crazy abstract makeup looks, writing, yoga. Just anything that can help calm you down without clearing out your pockets. I hoped I helped! Goodluck!

@allissa your right I'm just going to try to keep my self busy because it seems like everything in my life is going to hell all at once and the only thing that makes me feel better Is to buy something maybe I will try yoga!

Yes yoga will be awesome because it gets you out of your head and to just focus on your body. I'm sorry things aren't going well for you, and I wish you nothing less then the best!! Hope things look up!

I have that same thing like when I'm cranky for ANY reason even if I just woke up on the wrong side of the bed I know I'll be happy if I buy makeup or skincare related things. I also work at ulta so it's super easy to do so I just purposely don't bring money with me and I try my absolute hardest to think of reasons why I don't need it.

I absolutely understand. I have this problem and I absolutely hate but love it at the same time. I love shopping normally but when I am stressed or or sad the mall is what I turn to. or when I but something on line I'm like well its only $20 dollars but the $10 dollar shipping makes it $30 that means I'm only $20 away from free shipping. I do that all the time. yes I am guilty of spending $50 extra dollars so I won't have to pay shipping.

I do the same thing. I usually end up returning some items when I've come to terms with how much I've spent. Then I feel good seeing money going back on my account haha.

I do the same thing. I can't go grocery shopping without wandering into the cosmetics section. My boss often sends me to the Rite Aid behind my job to buy dish soap or printer ink and I always come back with makeup and nail polish. Nail polish is a huge weakness of mine even though I truly only use the same three colors. 😂

I know what you mean Antonia my husband and I would go grocery shopping and I'd disappear and come back with blush and lip gloss and face masks lol.

I can be the same way! To help, now I only buy things in cash, I NEVER use a credit card. If I have to buy something online, I deposit the specific amount of cash into my debit card account so I don't spend extra on anything I didn't plan on buying originally. I still buy tons of useless junk or things I really don't *need*, but at least I always have the money on hand when I do my shopping. I also make sure to put aside all money for necessities first, and never let myself touch that. It really helps me stay on top of things, even though I still find myself buying makeup and clothes on a regular basis.
