Im trying to bulk up my collection, and I'm struggling to find some really good quality foundation... Everyone fusses over MAC and i'm really not a fan!

I'm not a MUA but a consumer/client to one and from what I've seen and learned is that some brands do certain color ranges better than others so she picks and choses. For ultra light shades she'll only go for one particular brand and for the deepest of the dark go for another brand. Last time she worked on me MAC foundation was not in her case at all in any color. She does a lot of custom blending using Ben Nye and Kevin Aucoin products. She has an art background so I guess she has the patience for all that....many don't. Stuff that is ready made that she carries....Make Up Forever, a few Japanese brands that are sold in Sephora that I can't even spell without completely butchering it (lol), Chanel, Bobbi Brown, Kevin Aucoin, OCC and a few other one's that I can't seem to remember.

I'm not a fan of MAC either. I have makeup forever HD in my kit, a foundation palette of cream foundations, illamasqua skin base & urban decay naked skin. I also mix as I don't have every shade in each line. I have a pure white in illasqua skin base for mixing, the darkest shade & several in btwn.
