I would just paint my nails a pale pink & then use a nail art brush (smaller than regular polish brushes) to apply the gold up at the top.. if that's what you're asking? lol.

Some people use cut-outs. Cut one end of a piece of paper in a curved way ( the golden portion). After the pink dries, place it on your nail and paint in the gold. This way all your nails will look even and you don't risk ruining the pink portion. Hope you can understand what I was trying to say lol.

There's also these little smile like stickers you can use. just put it where you want the gold to end & paint & remove right away. just make sure the pink is completely dry first.

Put a layer of pink. wait for it to dry and then position reinforcers (pic included) where you would want the gold to be. Then paint that portion gold and peel of the reinforcers (while they're still wet) and let dry. apply a top coat and you're all set!

Hahahaha what! Crazy we must be geniuses or something ;P Hmm! I'll try the unpolished moon next time. I also like putting a matte top coat on the moon because I'm a sucker for glossy to matte nails :)
