Hey evetybody!
So I got my first tattoo done 4 years ago and it is just not good. It has a writing error (which they made, I wrote it in capital letters and checked it several times...they wrote another word). Now first, I do not need to hear that I was dumb and blabla...I went to one of the most known, expensive tattoo shops in town, let my writing get checked by a teacher and so on...it was just bad luck. *rant over*
Now I have gotten sick of the wrong writing and overall bad tattoo...I am planning to do a cover up...do you have any ideas? Experiences? Btw..there have to be black parts in the tattooo...and I was thinking about compass, peony flowers..roses...
Please add pictures if you have..

What it is written? If you don't like it you could ask them to remote the word and write another one?

I guess it's possible to hide it with makeup.

@Lauren G. yeah its small...but its kinda long and the part that covers up the writing has to be all black and long...so first thought was feathers, but I don't really like them...so no. The thing is , as Tristan the tattoo artist of my other 2 marvelous tattoos said, that if I don't want a feather I have to go big and I'm kinda scared, because of job and my parents thoughts (even now with 22years)... but I will sure take my time :)

If you need something for short term coverage, you should try these: http://amzn.to/14cHBWh
They're like a temporary tattoo that covers up your tattoo, if that makes sense. I have one on my hand that I had to cover up for a previous job and they stay on for a few days and you can even shower with them on.

Definitely talk to your tattoo artist, they can help you come up with ideas and tell you what works and what doesn't.

Hey annika, I have some suggestions for you..

1.Salabrasion is the term for rubbing a salt solution onto your skin, heating it, and scraping the skin away. In one study based out of San Diego, most tattoos were reduced at least by half. However, if the tattoo does disappear, you'll probably be left with a scar instead. It may not be like Tyler Durden's, but it'll be a scar.
2.Look into removal creams. Removal creams are the cheapest (cheap est, not cheap) and least painful method of tattoo removal: however, their effectiveness depends on regular, diligent use. The Tattoo Removal Institute recommends a couple different creams that seem to be effective, including TatBGone and Tattoo-OFF.
3.
Instead of completely removing your tattoo, you can also opt to alter it to look like a completely new tattoo.

@Lauren G. yes he should be able to manipulate it.:) I'm just trying to make it as easy as possible.
I know what you mean with roses...I also think they look quite harsh and a bit boring...I would do it with peonys (my favorite flower) or poppies. He is anyway going to draw something himself, he only tattoos his own drawings...so those are ideas..
